Ecommerce Website Design

Exceptional eCommerce websites for sales focussed businesses. Designed, optimised and managed for your brand.

An online shop is a business, not a brochure. Most websites have one job: make the phone ring. An ecommerce website has a harder one. It has to be found, build trust with a complete stranger, present your products properly, and take the money, all without you saying a word. Every weak link in that chain costs you sales, and most online shops have several.

I design and build ecommerce websites for established businesses that make or sell real products. Not dropshippers chasing a trend, but businesses with proper products, proper margins and a reputation worth protecting. Some are adding online sales to a business that's always sold face to face. Others have a shop already that looks tired, ranks nowhere or leaks customers at the checkout.

What makes an online shop actually sell

The difference between a shop that sells and one that sits there comes down to a handful of things done properly.

Your products presented the way they deserve. Photography given room to breathe, descriptions written to sell rather than fill space, and pages built so Google understands exactly what you offer and shows it to people searching for it. Product searches are some of the highest-intent traffic there is. Someone typing what you sell into Google is a customer looking for a place to spend money.

Trust built in seconds. An unknown shop has to earn a stranger's card details, so reviews, guarantees, delivery details and the story behind the business all sit where they reassure, not buried in a footer.

A checkout with no excuses. Every extra step, surprise cost or clunky form loses buyers who were ready to pay. I design the path from product to payment to be as short and obvious as possible, and it works properly on a phone, because that's where most of your customers are.

Built on platforms that won't hold you hostage

I build on Squarespace Commerce and Shopify, and I'll recommend whichever genuinely fits your catalogue, your margins and how you want to run things. I'm a Squarespace Circle Gold Partner and a Shopify Partner, which in plain English means the platforms I build on are ones I'm recognised in, not just familiar with. Either way you get a shop you can run yourself day to day: add products, change prices and process orders without calling anyone. You own everything.

Launched properly, then managed to grow

Like every project, the build is only the start. At launch I set up everything Google needs: Search Console, analytics with proper ecommerce tracking so you can see what's actually selling, your Business Profile, and product feeds where they fit. Then, if you want me to stay on, I manage and grow it: improving product pages, building visibility for the searches that matter, refining what turns browsers into buyers, and reporting in orders and revenue, not jargon.

That's not theory. I took one client's online shop from zero to £12,000 a month in orders inside six months, built and managed exactly this way.

The honest bit

Ecommerce is more competitive than local trade searches, and I'll tell you that upfront before you spend a penny. Margins, delivery costs and the size of your niche all decide whether an online shop stacks up, and if I don't think yours does yet, I'll say so in the first conversation. When it does stack up, it's one of the few investments that sells for you around the clock.
